DJI, a world leader in civilian drone manufacturing and creative photography technology, today unveiled the Inspire 3, the all-new full-frame 8K cinematic drone. With unprecedented flight performance and a complete professional ecosystem, this drone represents a revolution for high-end film and television productions.

The Inspire 3 is distinguished by its highly portable, integrated aerodynamic design, a night vision FPV camera with an ultra-wide 161° field of view, and the O3 Pro transmission and control system. It supports both RTK-powered Waypoint Pro and surveying omnidirectional, allowing for safer and more precise flight missions.

The full-frame Zenmuse X9-8K Air camera, equipped with DJI’s CineCore 3.0 image processing system, enables video recording in CinemaDNG up to 8K/25fps and Apple ProRes RAW 8K/75fps. Additionally, the X9-8K Air covers more than 14 stops of dynamic range, delivering stunning picture quality and greater creative freedom.

The Inspire 3 features high-precision RTK positioning technology and an integrated GNSS system, ensuring flight stability and precise route planning. The Waypoint Pro function allows you to plan flight routes and shots with a wide range of customized settings, while the Spotlight Pro function offers automatic recognition and tracking of a single object.

The Inspire 3’s omnidirectional sensing system, based on 9 vision sensors, detects obstacles in all directions and offers complete protection during flight. The ultra-wide-angle FPV lens and night vision sensor ensure stable vision both day and night.

The Inspire 3’s O3 Pro transmission offers a transmission distance of up to 15km and an ultra-low latency of 90ms. It also supports live feeds in 4K/30fps with a transmission distance as short as 5km, perfect for ultra-HD output and livestreaming needs on movie sets. Inspire 3 integrates seamlessly with the DJI Pro ecosystem, offering advanced features and greater compatibility with other professional devices.

“Inspire 3 is the pro-level aerial platform that all filmmakers have been waiting for,” says Ferdinand Wolf, Creative Director of DJI. “We can’t wait to see how Inspire 3 will take aerial cinematography to a whole new level.”

Compared to DJI Inspire 2, what are the main updates of Inspire 3?
DJI Inspire 3 features an elegant and integrated design, high mobility flight system, 8K full-frame image system, O3 Pro video transmission and control system, and efficient multi-scenario operations. Compared with DJI Inspire 2, the image quality and operational efficiency of Inspire 3 are greatly improved. This offers more creative freedom and a better aerial cinematography experience.

Is DJI Inspire 3 compatible with other Zenmuse stabilized cameras?
No. The Inspire 3 adopts a brand new stabilized camera quick release port that currently only supports the Zenmuse X9-8K Air full-frame stabilized camera.

Can I use Zenmuse X9-8K Air independently from DJI Inspire 3?
No. The Zenmuse X9-8K Air is only compatible with DJI Inspire 3. To get the same image quality on a ground platform, DJI Ronin 4D is recommended.
